About Rishikesh

Rishikesh, the "Yoga Capital of the World", sits on the banks of the Ganges beneath the foothills of the Himalaya. It is famous for its ashrams, yoga and meditation centres, the iconic Lakshman and Ram Jhula suspension bridges, and vibrant spiritual culture. Rishikesh is also a hub for adventure sports — especially white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and trekking to nearby viewpoints and temples.

Visitors often combine spiritual retreats with short adventure trips. Notable spots include the Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia), Parmarth Niketan, Triveni Ghat for evening Ganga aarti, and Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. The town has many yoga schools offering short courses and teacher trainings, as well as riverfront cafés and markets serving a variety of vegetarian and international food.

Best time to visit: September to November and February to April for pleasant weather and clear river conditions for rafting. During peak festivals and summer holidays the town becomes crowded — book accommodation in advance.
