About Gangotri
Gangotri, nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, is one of the four sacred shrines of the Chardham yatra and the origin of the River Ganga. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and tranquil alpine landscapes, Gangotri draws pilgrims and nature lovers who come to witness the source of India’s holiest river and offer prayers at the ancient Gangotri Temple. The route to Gangotri traverses scenic valleys, glacial streams, and traditional villages, offering a spiritual and contemplative journey through high altitude mountain terrain.
The temple complex, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, sits near the Bhagirathi River and is the focal point for worship and ritual. The best time to visit is between April and October when the weather is milder and the mountain roads are accessible. Visitors can combine Gangotri with nearby attractions such as Yamunotri and the pilgrimage towns of Uttarkashi and Harshil. Respectful attire and adherence to local customs are recommended while visiting the temple and nearby sacred sites.
Our Gangotri package includes comfortable transfers, experienced guides, well-planned acclimatisation stops, and clean accommodation options. Whether you are undertaking the yatra for spiritual reasons or to explore the pristine Himalayan environment, our carefully curated itineraries ensure safety, comfort, and an authentic experience of Uttarakhand’s mountain culture.
